The Rapture Of The Church

Pre-Tribulation Rapture: Who is going, Who is not and Why

What is the rapture? It is the gathering of the saints saved during the dispensation of grace to meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air:

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Rom_8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Also See: Rom_8:23 Rom_9:4 Gal_4:5 Eph_1:5

The Word Rapture is not in the bible?

It is derived from the root Greek word Harpazo: (Caught Up)

Also the Latin The word “rapio” Also Means “caught up” This is actually were the term Rapture Comes From. So the Greek word that is in scripture was translated to Latin in the Vulgate and the Extra-biblical word rapture was born

Greek Lexicon: harpazō har-pad’-zo

  1. to seize, catch (away, up),
  2. pluck, pull, take (by force).

Dictionary Definition to seize, carry off by force

  1. to seize on, claim for one’s self eagerly
  2. to snatch out or away

Examples in the Bible Of Raptures:

Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

2Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Act 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. (caught away<– (was translated from Harpazo in this verse)

2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. (caught up<– (was translated from Harpazo in this verse)

REMEMBER IT MEANS TO BE TAKEN AWAY BY FORCE

So there are Good Raptures and Bad

Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

Mat 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. <— indicative of a Hell Scenario (Mat_13:42 Mat_24:51 Mat_25:30 Psa 112:10)

(1) Who is Jesus Christ Coming Back With?:

Deu 33:2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

Jud_1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

1Th_3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

1Th_2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? ← in His Presence means WITH HIM while He is returning. Words Mean Things

As John Is watching the Tribulation Unfold He looks From the earth where the events begin to Roll out and then Looks back into Heaven and Suddenly there appears the Multitude that no man could number.

Things which are herafter (future):chapter 4

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

<—THE BODY OF CHRIST AND THE MULTITUDE THAT ARE IN IT CAME OUT OF GREAT TRIBULATION they did not go through

Jud_1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. <–Pulling someone out of the Fire is preventing them from going into or through it.

THE DAY OF THE LORD IS NOT THE RAPTURE?

1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. <—He said then sudden destruction cometh upon them not UPON US this is Christ Second Coming not the rapture.

2Pe_3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. <—Each on e of the passages deals with the end and Destruction

Rev_3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and (hold fast, and repent). If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. <–He is talking to Israel not the Body of Christ (hold fast, and repent) is indicative of Works and Repentance – we are saved by grace.

Rev_16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. <— keepeth his garments = WORKS

(2) DEFINITION OF IMMINENCY

What is the biblical definition of immanency? Dr. Renald Showers defines and describes imminence as follows:

An imminent event is one which is always “hanging overhead, is constantly ready to befall or overtake one; close at hand in its incidence.” (“imminent,” The Oxford English Dictionary, 1901, V, 66.) Thus, imminence carries the sense that it could happen at any moment. Other things may happen before the imminent event, but nothing else must take place before it happens. If something else must take place before an event can happen, then that event is not imminent. In other words, the necessity of something else taking place first destroys the concept of immanency.

1Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Why would we hope if we see the Anti Christ knowing that CHRIST is literally on his way. Why would I care or be afraid if I knew his return was imminent then I would not need to patiently wait for it…I also could not be surprised and it negates imminencey.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:

(7 years of 360 days each = 2520 days)

and in the midst of the week

(halfway through 2520 days = 1260 days)

he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Rom 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. <—These are words of comfort not anguish in anticipation of seeing the Anti Christ, Living through Hell on Earth and Being decapitated for your faith… (3)

Paul discusses the Day of the Lord and our gathering together to Him as separate events

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, <–2 events are in view here PERIOD

2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. <–Not to Fear Or Be Troubled by this

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; <–What Day? The Day of The Lord will come after the Antichrist is revealed

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. <–What is withholding that Paul is reminding them that they already know? It is the Body of Christ

2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. <–the he (small “h”) is the One new man (all the saints saved during the age of Grace) small h because it is the masculine part of the Body of Christ not the Complete body and not the bride (the bride is Israel, It is also not the Holy spirit or the tribulation saints. The Jewish Church saints will go through the tribulation and see the antichrist, The Holy Spirit will remain or no one can get saved

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: <—- After “he“ is taken out

2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

THE ONE NEW MAN DESCRIBED BY PAUL IS A MASCULINE REFERENCE:

Eph_2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making

Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Paul Is using an Analogy of Divorce, death to describe The end of the Law for Justification, Not being married literally to Christ. Jesus is not going to marry Himself !

(4) I dont believe the One New Man inserted into the Body of Christ and The Bride Of Christ are the same thing, Let me explain why: The Words the “Bride of Christ” are never mentioned ONCE in scripture.

The Body of Christ is made up of Different parts as described in scripture:

Eph_1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: <—important distinction

Rom_12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

Rom_12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1Co_12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

1Co_12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

1Co_12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

NOW REMEMBER that the Lord calls a Husband and Wife ONE PERSON One Flesh but they are still two separate beings

Gen_2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Mat_19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Eph_5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

The issue of Israel’s divorce is an important one to address. Because it is in direct relation to Jesus Casting them aside in the Book of Acts Chapter 7.

Isa_3:13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

Act 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Jeremiah tells us about God divorcing the House of Isreal. And Isaiah gives it a confirming side comment. This is followed up by Hosea’s statement that Israel is “not my wife”.

So if God is divorced from Israel and the New Covenant was supposed to be the re-marriage and the giving of the Kingdom, Israel is in a continued state of Divorce and worse yet they are blinded and cast away?

Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Isa 50:1 Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Hos_1:9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

Hos 2:2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

Rom_11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

Rom 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Rom 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

(5) God Describes Israel as Female, refers to her as a Wife, Writes her a bill of divorcement and the description of the Lambs Wife in Revelations is a Female and also ALL Jewish in description:

Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Rev 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Rev 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of (her) seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

So if Israel is identified throughout the Old Testament and the New as Female and we are Identified as the Body of Christ (MALE) Then when does God Remarry or Accept Israel as his people again?

The following passage shows the Lord’s plan to bring the Jews back to Him through the Tribulation. Verses 1-5 describe the “Gog and Magog War,” verses 6-9 show the final destruction of Babylon at the end of the Tribulation, and the inheritance given to the Jews in the Millennium is found in verses 10-13

Zec 2:11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

Zec 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

Zec 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

If the church is “the bride of Christ” then the Christian has to do something to get “herself ready”.

Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

  • If the Church were “the bride, the Lamb’s wife” then that angel would have shown him “the Church”, not the Holy Jerusalem. – Rev. 21:9-10
  • Jesus did not teach that his body is also his bride. Paul didn’t teach it either.
  • Christians are repeatedly called “sons of God”, “the body of Christ” and “the church” throughout the New Testament but are never called “the bride of Christ”.

The preceding scriptures and examples make it very simple to distinguish between the Lambs Bride and the One New Man Which is taken out of the way in Thessalonians.

(6) Resurrection to the flesh in the LAST DAY common knowledge for Jews

IS NOT THE RAPTURE EITHER

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

No resurrection as of Acts 2 AFTER CHRIST ASCENDED ALL THE SAINTS ARE STILL IN ABRAHAMS BOSSOM WHOS COMING BACK WITH HIM?

Act 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Act 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

The Body Of Christ (the one new man inserted into the church Is being Redeemed Adopted and caught up and Transformed not RESSURECTED

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

OUR BODY WILL BE CHANGED LIKE HIM…

Phlp 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

The “Last Day” Resurrection of Israel

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

How can the Lord Return with any old testament or kingdom saints if according to Peter in Acts David and those in Abraham’s bosom are still there untill the last day. The first resurrection

doesn’t take place until the 1000 year millennial reign begins AFTER THE TRIBULATION?

(7) So the Body Of Christ is made up of different parts.

The One New Man ( Heavenly Body Christ) No Jew Or Gentile Distinction

1 Co_12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Gal_3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; <–between Israel and Gentiles

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Kingdom & Tribulation Saints (New Testament) Both Jew And Gentile

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Act 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. <—ALL JEWS

Act 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.<—ALL JEWS at pentecost

Rom_9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

Rom 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Rev_12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

(8) In Conclusion.

A) The Rapture and the Resurrection are Two different Transformations

B) Our Gathering together UNTO HIM and the Day of the Lord are Two Different Events

C)The Church is one organism made up of different Parts -Col_2:19

  1. The One New Man (Saved By Grace Raptured To Heavenly Places)
  2. The Bride Of Christ (Israel Restored )
  3. The Kingdom Church (Saved by works Resurrected to Earth)
  4. The Tribulation Saints (Saved by Works) Martyred or Enter Live into the Kingdom
  5. ALL Gathered into one at the End

Eph_1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven (BRIDE), and which are on earth;(ISRAEL) even in him: (US)
